Sam King

HEAD OF ENGINEERING

Sam King works at the intersection of technology and social good. At Empower Project, he leads and manages the engineering team. Sam earned his Masters in Computer Science from Stanford where he received an award from President Clinton for founding Code the Change, which helps computer science students use their skills for social good. He also worked on education, diversity, and inclusion at Google. Then he worked on the Healthcare.gov fix-it team, which saved taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars and millions of hours of time. Outside of work, he volunteers with the Bay Area Urban Debate League, where he has been honored with a Volunteer of the Year award. During his free time, he enjoys science fiction and fantasy books, video games, and musicals.
